UFC Alves vs Kampmann

Went to my first UFC fight on Saturday courtesy of my uncle's friend.  He got us free tickets in the 6th row, not too shabby.  Being there live is 100x better than watching the fights on TV.  Hearing the smack every time a punch or kick is landed makes you realize just how hard these guys are getting hit.  About half of the bouts were somewhat boring but the other half were pretty intense.  Thiago Alves vs Martin Kampmann (main bout) and James Te-Huna (win) vs Aaron Rosa were definitely the best two match ups.  I would not want to be on the receiving end of any of those guys punches but especially not Te-Huna.  I expect he's going to have a huge future in the MMA world.  I found it incredibly strange how quiet it got right after the rounds started.  All the lights go black except for the ring lights and you'd swear you were at a tennis match until someone shouts out "Punch him really hard!" or "Hit him like he f**ked your misses!"  Overall, good day of watching some guys beat the pulp out of each other while having a few beers and ending the night with a few drinks at The Deck in Dee Why.  The only downside was not getting a picture and/or an evening with one of the ring girls.  Maybe next time...
